Duolant (Jeff Mettlewsky) and Chris Rorrer are musicians with a broad history of improvisation and composition who came together in 2020 to explore the outer reaches of their respective instruments. Drawing on years of their craft, the merging of Duolant’s electronic realm with Rorrer’s intimate cello creates moments that reveal raw beauty and an intriguing connection between the performers. With experimentation in mind, the two players' collaboration strikes a strong balance between spontaneity and musicianship. The duo’s efforts can be heard in live performance as well as on self-released recordings.
